‘Showbike Fighting’ Jakarta, Indonesia

‘Showbike Fighting’ Jakarta, Indonesia, becomes AMD World Championship Affiliate

Often referenced as, statistically, the third largest motorcycle/PTW market in the world, Indonesia hasn’t really been on the northern hemisphere’s radar as a hotbed of custom bike building culture, but that may be about to change.

There has always been a small but passionate custom scene there, and we here at AMD Magazine are proud to announce that there is about to be an AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building show in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.
Organized by Indramawan, Managing Editor of Otoplus Indonesia, a leading automotive and motorcycle magazine (www.otoplus.id), the 2016 “Showbike Fighting” AMD World Championship affiliate event will have been staged and the winners known by the time the print edition of this month’s AMD Magazine hits your desk - it is taking place April 1 – 2 at the 18th ‘Otobursa Tumplek Blek’, a leading Indonesian Automotive expo in Jakarta.
However, if it goes well, and if enthusiasm and determination is any guarantee of success, then it will now take its place on the AMD Official Affiliate Custom Bike Show calendar – hopefully for many years to come.

Indramawan,
Managing Editor of Otoplus

Though new to the AMD program this year, the show, and the efforts of Indramawan and his “fellow travellers” to bring international recognition and profile to Indonesian Custom Culture, go back nearly 15 years.
As a media with the main interest in motorcycle modification and custom, Otoplus is aware of the importance of giving influence to its readers and followers. Therefore, Otoplus needs a flagship event as a showcase, to keep the custom and modification culture evolving.
‘Showbike Fighting’ was first staged in 2004 - a year after Otoplus Magazine had started – coincidentally the same year of the first AMD World Championship.
Inspired by the simplicity of concept and emphasis on hand-craftsmanship that they saw early World Championship winners such as Roger Goldammer succeeding with, the Indonesian custom community started to build their own bikes, and as their careers evolved, as Indra told us: “The more complicated, technically sophisticated constructions such as the hydraulic steering, reverse-mounted engines and 2x single side arms especially seen on builds by the likes of Bertrand Dubet/Fred Miano with ‘Anima’, also had an influence – showing that simplicity could live with innovation, with advanced engineering solutions.

“We started to regularly showcase the bikes that we were seeing in the AMD World Championship in Otoplus and published special editions called ‘Showbike’ that showed the Indonesian market what was happening in Europe and USA, and that helped raise the bar here and shape “the art of the possible.”

“In 2013, our “Ride The World” campaign, in alliance with Kustomfest, saw us invite Roland Sands from RSD to join our programs with an ‘RSD Challenge’.
In the program, we challenge our customizers and builders to build a bike from a sketch that Roland made. In the grand finale, Roland decided to choose the 2-nominee bikes from Susanto ‘Yayang’ Gunawan (909 Hotmatic – Bandung), and Siswo ‘Wiwin’ Winoto (Win’s Paddock – Purwokerto) as winners.

Harley-Davidson

Harley named as “Official Motorcycle” of AFT Twins series

American Flat Track Twins Racing has named Harley-Davidson as Official Motorcycle of AFT Twins as part of an expanded, multi-year partnership renewal.
Described by the AMA as “the most historic form of American motorcycle racing” AFT is now in its 64th year with 18 rounds slated for 2017, and that the “iconic American motorcycle manufacturer has been synonymous with the sport since its formation in 1954.”

“American Flat Track and Harley-Davidson share a common vision for the future of our truly American sport,” said Michael Lock, CEO of American Flat Track. “2017 marks a new era, with a re-imagined class and event structure, broadcast coverage to 90 million homes through NBCSN and a renewed partnership with one of America’s most iconic brands. Now is the time for a whole new generation to fall in love with this great American tradition.”
AFT Twins headlines the American Flat Track events, and the AMA says that Harley has “made a strategic commitment to the continued growth of all aspects of the sport. As the entitlement sponsor for eight rounds on the calendar, the Milwaukee-based manufacturer plans to activate the largest dealer network in the industry to drive consumer engagement through activation at and around American Flat Track races.
“For more than 100 years, Harley-Davidson has been racing to entertain fans, build enthusiasm for the sport of motorcycling and prove the capability of the motorcycles we sell,” said Scott Beck, Harley-Davidson Director of Global Brand Marketing. “Most of that history has been built around Flat Track Racing in America – where racing is at its most accessible and exhilarating form.  We are racing to inspire Harley-Davidson ownership among the next generations of young riders. It will be an amazing AFT season this year.”
In a clear effort to exploit the good work that has been done independently by Roland Sands Design’s development of their ‘Hooligan Racing’ series, the AMA says that Harley-Davidson will also integrate a new racing element into the AFT event schedule at select rounds: the Harley Hooligans. “The Harley Hooligans represent a perfect marriage of flat track and grassroots racing, giving amateurs the chance of a lifetime, sharing the stage with the world’s best dirt track motorcycle racers.” Yeah, right, “not made here” strikes again.

Harley #3 of 50?

Working on the assumption that Matt Levatich wasn’t counting paint scheme variants, then the new Revolution X750 engine ‘Street Rod’ will be number three in his 50 new models in five years blitz - that’s if you give Harley the benefit of the doubt and start counting from January’s XG750R announcement (the engine is available as a “Crate Motor”, even though the bike itself isn’t a production model), and include February’s Road King Special as #2 in the plan for global domination. Ever since the ‘Street Rod’ was announced, we have been trying to remember who it was at Harley that went on the record at the time of the V-Rod launch, swearing that there would never be any “baby rods” ...

Custom Show Emirates 2017

Abu Dhabi, March 30 – April 1

This week sees the third annual Custom Show Emirates (30 March to 1 April 2017) being staged at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Featuring the ‘Middle East Biker Build-Off’ between 2016 Las Vegas winner Pete Pearson (Rocket Bob’s, UK) and Hussain Salmeen of Kuwait, Custom Show Emirates is a joint custom car and motorcycle exhibition.
The car show is affiliated with SEMA, who offer a ‘Show-within-Show’ (SEMA Middle East) exhibit opportunity for its members, and with Swiss Custom, the custom bike show staged at the respected annual SwissMoto in Zurich every year – the Swiss Moto team will select a bike for a freight and expenses prize to compete at their show in February 2018.
Organized by respected journalist, photographer and promoter Frank Sander (Thunder Media), the event is the largest show of its kind in the Middle East – Abu Dhabi is the administrative capital and largest of the seven countries that make up the 9.1m population of the UAE.

Further leading Emirati customizers such as Lycan Custom, Custombikes Al Ain and Sheik Customs will be among an international field that includes competitors that have already scored high positions at various bike shows in the Middle East and elsewhere.
The motorcycle program includes stuntshows and international exhibitors from UAE, Europe, Australia, China and the USA. The Middle East is a very performance oriented market (the venue for the show is only 10 minutes from the Yas Marina Formula 1 circuit and ‘Ferrari World’, so SEMA is organizing a specialized car show, which will feature all aspects of car customizing and tuning, introducing international renowned tuners and accessory manufacturers.
There will be ‘Drift Shows’, performed with Japanese Drift cars and 4×4 Drifts, and a Custom Car Competition running alongside the custom bike show. The Bike show requires all entries to be runners, and classes include Scooters, OEM bikes, Three-Wheelers, Classic/Vintage bikes, Bobbers, Streetbikes, Metric Cruisers, Modified Harleys, Streetfighters (very popular in the Middle East), Sportsters and customized Indian models and Tourers, in addition to radical customs.

American Flat Track

Mees takes AFT second round win at Atlanta on Scout FTR750

One week after giving Indian Motorcycle its historic first victory in American Flat Track competition at Daytona International Speedway, Jared Mees made it two in a row on Saturday 25 March, winning at the Atlanta Short Track, presented by Indian Motorcycle.

A podium clean sweep at Atlanta for the 2017 vintage 'Wrecking Crew': 1st, Jared Mees, Brad Baker second and Bryan Smith third, to give Indian five of the six podium finishes so far, after Mees and Smith scored a One - Two at the Daytona TT

The three-time Grand National Champion was part of a podium sweep for the Indian “Wrecking Crew” in front of a near-capacity crowd at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga.
It was another fierce battle for top honors in the AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines class, with Mees on the No. 9 Indian Motorcycle Rogers Racing Scout FTR750 locked in a back-and-forth battle with Sammy Halbert on the No. 69 Estenson Racing Harley-Davidson XR750. The pair made contact, resulting in Halbert ending up in the dirt on the front straight and bringing out a late-race red flag.

When the race restarted, Mees pulled away in the ensuing five-lap shootout to win by 1.185 seconds over Indian Motorcycle Racing, backed by Allstate teammates Brad Baker on the No. 6 Indian Scout FTR750 and Bryan Smith on the No.1 Indian Scout FTR750.
“Sammy led pretty much all the race before I started to come into play towards the end,” said Mees, who scored his 18th career victory. “We just started slide-jobbing each other. He’d get underneath me, then I’d get back underneath him. He was trying to protect the lead coming down, and I was coming up where the start/finish line has an arc. We just got together and he ended up with the crappy end of the stick. That’s racing when you’re going with five laps remaining for a Grand National Championship win. It’s hard.”
Mees also recorded a personal milestone, scoring his first AFT Short Track victory to complete the elusive dirt track Grand Slam. Opening the year by winning the Harley-Davidson DAYTONA TT presented by Polaitis & Matovina – his first TT triumph – Mees is now halfway to earning a dirt track Grand Slam in consecutive races, something which has never been done in the 64-year history of the sport.
The next events on the AFT schedule are the Harley-Davidson Charlotte Half-Mile on Saturday, April 1, followed by the Law Tigers Arizona Mile presented by Indian Motorcycle in Phoenix on May 13.

News Briefs

In Switzerland Harley-Davidson scooped 4th place in market share of new motorcycle registrations in 2016; they sold an impressive 3,032 units (down a little from 3,384 units sold 2015) in a market worth 26,391 motorcycles in total (27,319 in 2015). Yamaha is market leader there, with BMW second.

J&P Cycles has entered into an exclusive partnership with insurance provider GEICO. Riders can now receive personal insurance consultations from GEICO at J&P Cycles stores during Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Florida, and the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota. “Our customers are passionate about customizing their motorcycles. Coverage of accessories is critical, and we think GEICO does that best,” said Zach Parham, Vice President and general manager of J&P Cycles.

Harley-Davidson took top market share honors in road bike sales in Australia for 2016, selling 10,282 new bikes there for a leading segment share of 21.5 per cent.

Polaris has declared a 5 percent increase in the regular quarterly cash dividend, raising the pay-out to $0.58 per share. This increase represents the 22nd consecutive year of Polaris increasing its dividend effective with the 2017 first quarter dividend. CEO Scott Wine: “We have maintained a disciplined, consistent approach to returning cash to shareholders, and dividends remain one of the important ways we can deliver further value. This underscores our steady cash flow generation, and continued strong financial position.”
Though a small market (43,621 units sold in total in 2016), Harley-Davidson is in 5th place in market share terms in Austria among the “big boys”, having sold 1,142 motorcycle there last year, up from 992 in 2015). Indian was 11th in class, selling 82 units (44 in 2015).

Germany has approved a draft law allowing for autonomously driving cars to be active on German streets. Crucially, within the law, responsibility for mishaps continue to rest firmly in the hands of the driver, but allows for the driver to hand control of his or her vehicle to the vehicle’s own control system in certain situations and for certain periods of time. The law would require a form of ‘black box’, which would record all driving data and thereby be decisive in disputes over liability, should the autonomous driving technology fail.

A U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission report shows a continuing decline in the number of ATV deaths and injuries. The report finds a “statistically significant decreasing linear trend” in ATV related injuries for 2007-2015. For 2007 to 2012 reported ATV related fatalities declined by 31 percent, and ATV related fatalities involving children declined by 50 percent. Reporting for 2013 to 2015 is ongoing.

The second annual woman-led ADVWoman Rally will be held July 20-23, 2017 at Flying Heels Rodeo Arena in Granby, Colorado. Organized for women and families, the event will include a variety of self-guided rides, Geocache scavenger hunt, classroom training sessions as well as on-range adventure and dirt bike rider training. All the instructors will be women, but men are welcome too.
U.S. media giant Liberty Media has completed its planned take-over of Formula 1 racing in January for a reported $8bn. The broadcaster is proposing to add at least two more GP races to the schedule in the USA – at present the annual US GP is staged at the purpose-built Circuit of the Americas at Austin, Texas – also home to the US MotoGP.

Designed as a loyalty-generating complementary shop differentiator to boost pre-owned motorcycle sales, EFG Companies of Irving, Texas, is offering U.S. motorcycle dealers a “Million Mile Club” warranty promotion on powertrains on approved, carefully inspected, pre-owned motorcycles. Available on models current plus 10 years with less than 60,000 miles, 1,000,000 Mile Limited Powertrain Protection focuses on expensive powertrain components such as engine, transmission, primary drive and drive axle; available for 12/24/36 month coverage, and for new motorcycles. Additional component coverage and benefits such as roadside assistance also available.

Vance & Hines

Vance & Hines 2017

Santa Fe Springs, California based exhaust manufacturer Vance & Hines has released its 2017 V-Twin products catalog, now with added V&H ‘Raceshop’ components.

The burgeoning program, bred from the decades of race experience that underscores everything that Terry Vance and Byron Hines do, now extends from valve sets, springs, guides and sets through cams, lifters, pushrods, pistons and oils.
In exhaust terms the highlights are, inevitably, the new products, and for 2017 these include state-of-the-art connectivity and tuning features for the Fuelpack FP3 and Monster V Touring slip-ons with 2017 and Touring M-8 updates throughout the range, including touring Power Duals fitments, Dresser Duals, touring Eliminator 400, oversized 450, twin-slash round and hi-output slip-ons.
However, we here at AMD have “reasons to believe” that maybe, just maybe, we haven’t yet seen the full V&H 2017 story unfold yet – yes, you heard it here first, there is definitely more to come!

V-Twin Expo 2017

V-Twin Expo 2017 review part 1

The 18th annual ‘Cinci’ show saw several regulars and major players absent themselves for a range of reasons, many of them not to do with the efficacy of the show as such. However, with concerns widespread, the 120 plus exhibitors (including several new vendors and returnees) who did make the investment reported better Saturday traffic than they’d expected, and better business done than had been the case in the past couple of years - even the “Super Bowl-free” Sunday was a tad better than usual. Most of the vendors that we here at AMD Magazine spoke to said that they would be returning for 27th-28th January 2018. www.vtwin-expo.com

CIRO: Aero Rudd, son of legendary Drag Specialties and Kuryakyn founder Tom Rudd, heads up a new parts and accessories business that has grown quickly since making its 2015 debut. Available from Drag Specialties, Parts Unlimited and Zodiac International, the range extends from advanced, controllable LED lighting solutions through to detailing and tidy-up parts for all areas of the bike, from the cockpit, fairing and front end to the rear fenders and bags; www.ciro3d.com

CenterFlo: A new exhibitor at V-Twin Expo, Sacramento, California based CenterFlo’s patented valve design throttle body utilizes a segment bored cylinder pair to precisely control air flow to form an obstruction free bore. Eliminating the throttle blade and shaft allows a greater volume of air to flow more freely into the engine, making more mid-range torque and higher top end horsepower. “Low rpm driveability, which often suffers with larger throttle bodies, is now greatly improved with finer control at the beginning of throttle movement.” It has mounting provisions for stock-compatible injectors and sensors. Projected to be available for 2006-2016 cable throttle Big Twins by summer 2017; CARB certification is pending; www.centerflo.com

K&N Engineering: Following the launch last year of their Big Twin, newly revised cast aluminum ‘AirCharger’ intake system, the Riverside, California, filter and performance specialist has added two more intake designs that are “guaranteed to deliver increased horsepower” - ‘Street Metal’, ‘The Shaker’, and soon to be released ‘The SideDraft’. These stylish, contemporary cast aluminum, high volume RK Series intakes feature a washable, oversized K&N high-flow air filter, backing plate and built-in dyno-tuned velocity stacks. They mount with an integrated breather system and completely replace the stock air cleaner assembly with its external breathers. Each feature a reputable K&N limited warranty. K&N will offer Drycharger wraps for use in inclement conditions and extended service intervals;  ww.knfilters.com

Heartland: Now owned by former Sales and Marketing Director Lonny Spiva, the Fullerton, California, custom styling and conversion kit specialist is back on the new products trail again with a choice of recently introduced kits for Dyna models. The 200 D and 240 D allow for a 200mm and 240mm rear tire respectively, utilizing Heartland’s patented billet aluminum struts with a choice of two steel fender lengths and leather seat. The struts are slotted and pinned for Heartland’s also patented second seat options. The struts are finished in either chrome, gloss black or ‘TuxCut’. Check out their all-new website rebuild at www.heartlandbiker.com

BadJack Machine: Another new exhibitor in 2016, Austin, Texas based BadJack Machine’s patented Boot Draggers cruiser pegs for Big Twins are “an innovative and stylish solution that give bikers an alternate riding position, reducing fatigue on long rides.” They simply bolt on to existing OEM standard, swept and half-moon style floorboards without modification or damaging the boards. A deceptively simple idea, they are machined from high strength, lightweight billet aluminum and deliver a fatigue relieving alternate rider foot position; www.badjackmachine.com

Yelvington: The Florida based trike conversion kit specialist (Harley touring, Dyna and Sportster models) made their V-Twin Expo debut as a parts vendor, showcasing the reverse pulley for tourers that they introduced last year and their Suspension Technologies shock absorber program (headed up by Mike Alex, it includes shocks for the Indian Scout as well as Harley applications). Engagement of Yelvington’s patented reverse system is simple: “It’s just so natural,” says Director of Sales & Marketing Mark Russell, “just flip a switch and ease out the clutch. Once engaged, the pulley rotates normally, while the wheel rotates in reverse. To move forward, just flip a switch and ease out the clutch; www.yelvingtonusa.com

TecMate

Small, powerful and smart

The new OptiMate 1+ has undergone improvements that has turned TecMate’s entry level charger into a ‘deluxe’ battery maintainer.

Delivered with a 1.8m (6ft) power cable (like all other OptiMate chargers) for security, convenience and versatility, two keyhole slots allow for easy wall mounting and there is a slot to fit a Velcro strap - shaped so that the charger can hang from a motorcycle’s handlebar.
New attractive packaging showcases the high-quality OptiMate 1+ perfectly at the counter or on a rack or wall, guaranteed to generate that important consumer impulse buy.
High quality cable accessories are included – such as the O-04 battery clip, which is custom-designed to grip onto flat, square or round battery posts, and the O-01 weatherproof battery cable (-40°C rated 0.82mm2 cable, 15A fuse), which comes with M6 rings that perfectly fit powersport battery hardware. A rubber boot and cap seals the SAE connector against water and dust.
The key to the strength of the OptiMate 1+ is the unique OptiMate 24-7-365 maintenance programme. OptiMate’s “connect and forget/no more problems” claim has been proven and appreciated by millions of riders worldwide.
The OptiMate maintenance programme does not cycle the battery, it automatically connects and disconnects every hour, always monitoring and then replacing only the charge drained in that previous hour. The longer you leave the battery connected, the stronger it becomes!
A special low Volt pulse mode can ‘wake up’ the battery from as low as 4 Volts before it delivers constant current charge. If the battery is too far gone, this smart little charger won’t simply “green light” that battery, as many other designs and brands do, instead it warns the rider that the battery cannot hold charge.

S&S Cycle

S&S tuned induction air cleaners

One of the many S&S products available through Drag Specialties, these tuned induction air cleaners feature a swept forward two-in-one design that rams additional air into the cylinders to give a natural supercharging effect that increases mid-range torque.

Delivering nearly twice the filter area of a teardrop air cleaner, they are constructed with a chrome runner and bracket (except where noted), backing plate, filters and hardware.

Belt Drives Limited

GMA 2017 forward controls

Just released by GMA, a subsidiary of Californian manufacturer Belt Drives Limited (BDL), these updated forward controls incorporate reshaped mounting brackets that provide a lower profile and “unique, super clean appearance.”

Additionally, GMA’s FC-100 and 200 control kits now feature a splined shift shaft and shift shaft arm with pinch bolt for plenty of indexing options. The shaft is now larger in diameter, supported by an oil impregnated bronze bushing pressed into the left side mounting bracket, and fitted with an adjustable actuating rod and clevis design for the rear brake pedal -  while retaining the adjustable indexing foot lever, which helps get the brake and shifter levers right where they are wanted.
The redesigned mounting brackets make for a simple, unhindered installation and provide plenty of clearance for aftermarket frames. The new controls will fit standard OEM (3-hole) left and (2-hole) right side FX and early FL style frames. GMA cite application for 1986-1999 models, but they will fit earlier models; ‘70s Shovelhead applications will require a modified voltage regular mount.
Available with round or flat pegs, and a choice of show chrome, gloss black or polished finish.

Twin Power

Crankshaft position sensor

Twin Power has introduced a replacement crankshaft position sensor that is an exact O.E.M. fit, offering the same functionality as the stock sensor.

“The crankshaft position sensor is one of the most important parts of your motorcycle,” says James Simonelli (seen here at the Tucker Rocky brand expo), Brand Manager for Twin Power. “When it goes bad, your bike isn’t going anywhere. This new product will keep you on the road and solve a known problem cost-effectively.”

Simonelli went on to say that this product has been endurance tested to 60,000 miles to ensure sensor longevity, as well as 100% U.S. tested to O.E.M. specifications. It features an O.E.M.-style connector that provides an exact fit and has a unique coverage for Harley-Davidson applications.

Arlen Ness

Performance-Ness, Handling-Ness, Cool-Ness

From the mother-lode of performance custom accessory design, the Ness Products design studios at Dublin, California, come these deep cut, inverted air cleaner kits – designed to improve still further on their patented Big Sucker technology by using an inverted top that maximizes airflow.

Featuring their patented ‘Big Sucker’ technology, these inverted air cleaner kits pull air in from the face of the air cleaner as well as the sides

It does so by pulling in air from the face of the air cleaner, as well as the traditional method of pulling air in from the sides. Made in forged billet aluminum, each hidden breather is O-ringed at the heads and exits of the mouth of the injector/carb to provide “efficient breathing and a virtually closed loop system. This eliminates the need for any external hoses or hardware.
The radius inlet is said to “provide maximum performance by providing unobstructed airflow, and the aluminum breather hardware includes specially designed breather bolts and covers for clean mounting”.
The filters are handmade in the USA, featuring a synthetic material that is said to never need oiling – it can just be washed and re-used for long lasting results; synthetic filters are water resistant, eliminating the need for a rain sock. The design features an inverted, pleated top with pleated sides to maximize airflow by pulling in from every angle – the synthetic material is black with a stainless steel jacket.
The filter housings are machined from a single piece of forged billet aluminum “for clean styling, reduced weight and improved ergonomics. The built-in velocity stack not only gives a unique performance look, but also contributes to the performance improvements by forcing air into the filter’s pleated top.”
Matching deep cut wheels, rotors, inboard rotors, horn kits and other accessories are available with matching chrome finish.

This new bevelled, reusable billet oil filter features high-tech, laser-cut 304 stainless steel medical grade micronic cloth – a filter technology that is said to catch particles down to 35 microns, about three times better than conventional “premium” oil filter media

Also seen here, Ness’ new bevelled, re-usable billet oil filter in black features “high-tech Formula 1, NASCAR and aerospace industry derived filter technology that eliminates the tendency for traditional grade paper filters to flow so poorly that they often cause the bypass valve to open and allow unfiltered oil into the engine.”
The trick to doing this lies in the filter medium used – laser-cut 304 stainless steel medical grade micronic cloth that catches particles down to 35 microns, which is said to be about three times better than “most premium oil filters.
“These filters maintain consistent flow under all conditions, including extreme heat, the presence of water and cold start-ups.” Available for ’84-‘15 Big Twins and ’86-’15 Sportsters, the simple-to-clean and service bevelled styling features a chrome finish.
Ness hit a ‘home-run’ with the 10-Gauge product line it started to introduce in 2015 – especially with the multi-piece design factory replacement outer primary cover for ’07 and up FLT Touring models – available in chrome and, as seen here, in black.

Launched in 2015, the Ness ‘10-Gauge’ line started with their multi-piece factory replacement outer primary for ’07 and up FLTs

The company has continued to add to the program since the launch of the first designs, with items such as lifter block, cam, transmission top and side, rocker box and pushrod covers.

CNC-machined, forged ‘10-Gauge’ billet aluminum front engine mount brackets

Now they are also offering CNC-machined, forged 10-Gauge billet aluminum front engine mount brackets that are direct bolt-on replacements for the factory stamped steel bracket and stabilizer links that feature a specially designed spherical bearing, machined with a counter bore for flush mounted hardware; these are said to be the first and currently still only billet aluminum engine stabilizer links on the market for 09-15 Touring models. Both items are also available as part of their Deep Cut chrome or black programs.

Ness says these billet aluminum engine stabilizer links were the first, and are still the only ones on the market for ’09-’15 Touring models
